Meetup: WordPress Performance Optimization 2 -New Results |

WordPress Optimization used to be an arcane art similar to scurrying around in an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole of misdirections. But not any more. Now the range of tuning tools and optimizing methods outlined above can be quickly tracked and corrected. The net result is that sub 2 second response time for most WordPress webpages is achievable. Yes, transaction heavy or large media pages will prove the exception. But with the use of the current crop of WordPress Optimization tools expect much better website performance.

At the Oct 7 Meetup the consensus was that 2 second or less response time for most web pages is indeed commonly delivered using the methods cited at the meetup but some issues were raised. These issues will be some topics discussed at Nov 3 Zoom Meetup at 4PM.

One issue raised was how well the WP-Optimize plugin did beyond its primary database optimization tasks. So a recent testing of WP-Optimize and its caching, minification and image compression tools were tested on the following page:

And after Wp-Optimize tuning the results were very impressive:
GTMetrix test before optimization – Note D rating, LCP load in 3.2 seconds, and TBT delay at 328ms:

The results were a remarkable a 250% reduction in load time and a 120% reduction in TBT delay. So now , for all my BoldGrid WordPress Developer testing sites I will use the WP-Optimize plugin to set all the developer website’s Performance Tuning settings.
